When is the best time to hire an interior designer?

…from the beginning.

Planning your concept, layout, and even furniture details BEFORE your project begins is the best way to avoid frustration and costly delays. Our job is to help you define your goals and expectations, and then work to execute them smoothly to deliver a space you simply love to be in.

The Process

CONSULTATION

This is our first walk-through of your project. All decision-makers meet onsite for 90 minutes, discussing overall goals and project scope, as well as general design intent. We talk through a potential timeline and go over fees and contracts. This is an opportunity for clients to ask lots of questions and for both parties to determine that we’re a match.

PROGRAMMING

In this stage we dive into what shapes your personal style or drives your vision for the space. You’ll be presented with a mood board that provides the basis for your design concept moving forward. The concept is a digital collection of colors, textures, and potential features that reflect the aesthetic and feel you’re pursuing. It’s important we’re on the same page going forward as we’ll refer back to your concept frequently to guide decision-making.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Once our direction is determined and contracts are signed, the real work begins. We take measurements, photos, and consult previous blueprints (if applicable). We explore relevant location factors such as zoning or surrounding architecture. If you’re working with a builder and/or architect, we will meet with them as well. Rough space plans are drafted, furniture options researched, and potential finishes gathered.

DOCUMENTATION & PROCUREMENT

Upon client’s approval and paid purchase orders, furniture, fabrics, lighting, wall coverings, flooring, etc. is ordered and contracted work is scheduled. Design plans are thoroughly detailed and prepared for building.

INSTALLATION

This is the fun part! The hard work pays off as the plan comes to life. FF&E has been ordered and in this final stage is delivered and installed. Accessories and finishing touches are added, and the completed space is photographed.
